This parent/toddler dance class is a 30-minute introductory dance class containing ballet, tap, and creative movement. Young dancers and their parent/guardian will learn how to follow direction and imitate movement in an active environment while having a great time! Parent participation required.
Infinity Dance Company recognises the infinite dance potential of every dancer and offers a range of class types so they can explore the world of performance and dance. Every new student will be evaluated and every effort will be made to place them into a similar age group.
Twinkle Baby and Me
Ages 18 months-2 years
Twinkle Babies Dance - Ages 2-3
A 30 minute introductory dance class containing ballet, tap and creative movement. Young dancers will learn the basic steps while learning how to follow direction and imitate movement in a positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little guys inspired to dance. The use of props such as hula hoops, enables the young dancers to use their imagination, creativity and, most of all, have fun! Students must have turned two as of 9/1 in order to participate.
Tutus & Taps
An age specific 1 hour class containing ballet, tap and jazz/creative movement. The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies. The use of props such as hula hoops for the “freeze dance” makes the end of class the most fun!
Tutus & Taps 3-4: Students must be 3 years as of 9/1.
Tutus & Taps 5-6: Students must be 5 years old as of 9/1.
The Ballet program at Infinity Dance Company fosters musicality, body awareness and movement potential in a format that encourages individual artistry. The knowledge gained in these classes prepares the student for the attention to detail required in the study of formal ballet training.
Tap is an exciting rhythmic exercise and dance form which is enjoyable to both kids and adults. Rooted in African-American History, tap offers a variety of styles and techniques. Classes stress the basics of tap and allow dancers to build into combinations which are fun to watch and delightful to hear.
Jazz combines many styles and techniques from ethnic and contemporary dance, to ballet. The first half of class consists of exercises which stretch and tone muscles and develop support for proper stress-free alignment of the skeletal structure. Using jazz, soul, R&B, ethnic and pop music, jazz classes are a great workout and a fun way to release tension.
Contemporary is a fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz technique that incorporates artistry and improvisation to create unconventional shapes, dynamics, and musicality.
This class concentrates on developing strength and flexibility, basic Jazz/Contemporary movements, and basic technique such as plies, tendús, and releves.
Acrobatic Arts is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements such as rolls, backbends, limbers, walkovers, back handsprings, and aerials. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.
Pointe work brings the experienced dancer to the next level, raising them to the very tips of their toes! Students who have developed a solid foundation of dance ability are able to start learning this skill under the guidance of experienced teachers. Hip Hop provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance movements in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment. From R&B and House to Club and Pop, these classes utilize upbeat music from various genres, in addition to the latest Hip Hop hits. The result is an energetic class that not only teaches you Hip Hop movements and technique, but also instills rhythm and precision in your muscle memory.
Musical Theatre Consists of Broadway/theatre dance styles. This will introduce students to basic theater and jazz techniques by starting with a thorough warm-up that focuses on teaching vocabulary, building muscle strength, and energizing the body and mind for class. Emphasizing Theater Jazz, we eventually assimilate vocabulary to simultaneously work on executing the steps and telling a story.
Stretch and Conditioning
Technique, Stretch, and Conditioning classes incorporate classic ballet and jazz technique with a focus on strengthening, flexibility, and conditioning the body and working on across the floor progressions to build skill and understanding of leaps, turns, and floorwork.
Progressing Ballet Technique
Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.
